Jaguars will be out in force, too, with a wide range of models already confirmed including XK120, XK140 and XK150 roadsters as well as several E-types. The iconic sportscar is celebrating its 50th birthday this year and what better way to mark this important anniversary than travelling through some of Europe's most fashionable and historic destinations such as St Moritz, San Marino, Venice, Rome, Siena and Pisa.
No event is complete without a wide selection of popular MGs and the 2011 MSA Euroclassic boasts a comprehensive array of models including MGA, MGB, MGB GT and MGC.
With this year's 1425-mile non-competitive road trip travelling through the Italian supercar heartlands as well as visiting both the official Ferrari and Mille Miglia Museums, the presence of Latin exotica comes as little surprise - the confirmed Italian supercar contingent is topped by many of Ferrari's finest offerings from the Prancing Horse's glorious past.
"The MSA Euroclassic once again has attracted a fantastic entry," said Andrew Coe, Chief Executive of event organisers International Motor Sports Limited. "This year's route through the Black Forest, Swiss Alps, Italian Lakes and Tuscany promises to be one of the best yet - more so as we have track time en route at four circuits plus visits to the continents most-prized automotive museums. While we are delighted to welcome some more modern cars for the first time and to have so many Italian supercars on the entry list, it's particularly pleasing to see several E-types are making the trip. This is a landmark year for what must be one of this country's finest creations and where better to celebrate than in Ferrari's backyard!"
Participation in the MSA Euroclassic costs £2,250 per car plus a two-person crew and includes detailed route maps, exclusive driving opportunities at the four selected race tracks, on-event medical and mechanical assistance, lunches on most days, a special Celebration Dinner on the final evening plus a host of other benefits and attractions.
For more information and full details of the 2011 route, log onto the official website at www.msaeuroclassic.co.uk. Entries are restricted and will be accepted on a 'first come, first served' basis. The provisional closing date for entries is 30 June 2011 though later entries can be accepted subject to hotel availability.
Now entering its 19th incarnation, the MSA Euroclassic is a non-competitive, scenic tour for past and present classic cars as well as modern classics across Europe incorporating visits to museums, race circuits and other motoring and tourist related locations en route. First staged nearly 20 years ago, the event is one of the established annual European classic car highlights and is organised by International Motor Sports Limited. IMS is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Royal Automobile Club Motor Sports Association Ltd (MSA), the governing body of motor sport in the UK. Additionally, IMS is the organisation behind the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, Wales Rally GB and the RACMSA Rally of Scotland.
